Rosy pink peaches, white blossoms and teal leaves decorate this handmade and hand-painted ceramic tea set. The design carries across the gaiwan, its lid and footed saucer, and the matching teacup. Warm amber rims frame the pale green crackle glaze inside.
In Chinese tradition, the longevity peach (shòutáo, 寿桃) recalls the mythical peaches of immortality. It expresses a wish for a long and healthy life, especially at birthdays.
